Dr. Manmohan Singh, despite coming from an ordinary background, adorned the highest office of the country. Declaration of seven days of national mourning
On the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Union Home Ministry has announced seven days of national mourning across the country. During this period, the tricolor will remain at half mast at all places in India where the national flag is regularly flown. There will be no official entertainment programs during the period of national mourning. The Home Ministry said that the national flag will also be flown at half mast in all Indian embassies abroad on the day of the funeral.
PM Modi’s reaction on the death of Manmohan Singh
Expressing grief over the demise of Manmohan Singh, PM Modi said that he was one of the most distinguished leaders of India and left a deep mark on the economic policy of the country. PM Modi said, “He served in various government positions, including that of Finance Minister, and left a deep mark on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful.”
