Many roads are closed due to continuous snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In Himachal, bus movement is closed for the third consecutive day on 24 roads including 2 highways. There is about 1 foot of snow on National Highway 305 also. The administration is busy trying to remove the snow.
In Uttarakhand also, National Highway and State Highway are closed due to snowfall in Joshimath and Pithoragarh. In Dehradun also, 30 kilometer stretch of Tuni-Chakrata-Mussoorie National Highway is closed due to snowfall. The Meteorological Department has said that snowfall will continue here for the next 2-3 days.
There is an alert of thunderstorm and hail in 8 states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Here winds can blow at a speed of 50 km per hour. Due to this, the temperature of these states will also drop.
On the other hand, due to severe cold and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the temperature is several degrees below zero. A scene of this was seen in Sopore, Jammu. A pond in Haritara area froze completely. Children played cricket on this frozen pond itself.
