On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a campaign was conducted simultaneously across the state. Which was against unauthorized e-rickshaws and autos. To ensure the success of this campaign, Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh wrote a letter to all the Police Commissioners, District Magistrates and Police Captains and gave necessary guidelines.
On the first day of the campaign, on Tuesday, 915 e-rickshaws were seized in the state and a challan of 3035 was done. In order to make this campaign effective, intensive checking campaign was conducted across the state. It was monitored from the transport headquarters and it has been decided to run the entire campaign by 30 April.
Big action on first day
Transport Commissioner Brajesh Narayan Singh said that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister, this special campaign was started from Tuesday. On the very first day, 915 e-rickshaws were seized and 3035 drivers were challaned. The campaign is being regularly monitored and the responsibility of the officers has been fixed at the district level so that this campaign can be effectively operated.
Action taken in major cities
According to a news agency, Additional Transport Commissioner (Enforcement) and Nodal Officer of the campaign Sanjay Singh said that till 5 pm on Tuesday evening, large scale action was taken in various divisions. The maximum number of 381 e-rickshaws were seized in Ghaziabad division, while 363 e-rickshaws in Agra division were processed. The action taken in other districts is as follows:
– Lucknow division -200 e-rickshaws
– Jhansi Division -199 e-rickshaws
– Saharanpur division -171 e-rickshaws
– Mirjapur division -165 e-rickshaws
– Varanasi division -164 e-rickshaws
– Prayagraj division -136 e-rickshaws
During the campaign, it was ensured that the operation of unauthorized and without registration should be stopped. Also, strict action was taken against the drivers who were violating the rules.
Campaign purpose
The main objective of this campaign is to make roads safe and well -organized in the state. Unauthorized e-rickshaws and autos not only violate traffic rules but also pose a threat to the safety of passengers. As part of the campaign, special checking operations were conducted in public places, markets, bus stands and railway station areas.
Monitoring of the campaign
Regular monitoring of this entire campaign is being done from the headquarters. In every district, officials have been strictly instructed to submit a report of daily action. The Transport Department is fully committed to the success of this campaign and no laxity will be tolerated in it.
This special campaign will be run across the state by 30 April. During this time, the Transport Department and Police Department will take strict action against unauthorized e-rickshaws and autos. If required, the duration of the campaign can also be extended further. The state government has made it clear that violation of traffic rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against all vehicles operating without permission and registration.
