The base tariff of 10% will come into effect from April 5 and the remaining tariff is going to be implemented from April 9. Many countries have been imposing more import duty on American goods. The US says that it will also impose more import duty on imports from all countries imposing more import duty on its goods. This type of tariff is being called reciperook tariff.
Trump says that the new tariffs will make it expensive to bring foreign goods into America, which will start making products in America and create more job opportunities.
Trump said, “For decades, our country has been looted by all countries, friends and enemies, all countries have robbed us.”

Trump’s tariff will cause Pakistan and worse?
Pakistan imposes 58% tariff on goods imported from America. Now Trump has said that he will impose 30% tariff on goods imported from Pakistan. Pakistan and America had a $ 7.3 billion trade in the year 2024, in which the US exported $ 2.1 billion to Pakistan. At the same time, Pakistan exported $ 5.1 billion goods to America. It is clear from this figure that Pakistan is in profit in business with America because its exports are more to America.
Now it will be very difficult for Pakistan to sell goods in America as Pakistani goods will become expensive for American buyers after tariff. In view of this, either American buyers will buy a small amount of Pakistani goods or will find another option. In both these circumstances, Pakistan will be harmed.
Pakistan is already running its economy with the help of debt from the International Monetary Fund. Pakistan, which is suffering from the sky -touching inflation and rising unemployment, has suffered a major setback from the new tariff.
China
Trump has imposed a 34% recipe tariff on China. Chinese goods already have a tariff of 20%. If you mix both tariffs, then the US is putting a tariff of 54% on Chinese imports. China imposes 64% tariffs on American goods. Trump has made some concession on it compared to China.
Announcing the tariff on China, Trump said, “I have great respect for Chinese President Xi Jinping but China is taking great advantage of us.”
Talking about the trade of China and America, in 2024, trade between the two countries rose 11.1% to $ 23.1 billion from last year. China exported $ 20.2 billion to the US that year, which was 17% higher than last year. With this, China’s import from America declined by 18.2% to $ 2.8 billion in 2024.
China exports more than $ 20 billion to America and now sugar goods in America will become 34% more expensive. In view of this, the demand for Chinese goods in America may decrease, which will prove to be a big setback for China. Now China will have to look for a new market to sell its goods or Chinese companies will have to go to America and make their products.
Trump’s tariff will further weaken Bangladesh’s worse economy
Trump has imposed a 37% recipe on India’s neighboring country Bangladesh. Bangladesh imposes 74% tariff on American imports. In 2024, bilateral trade between the US and Bangladesh increased to $ 8.4 billion, which was 1.1% more than the previous year. In this entire trade, the US exported items worth $ 2.2 billion to Bangladesh. Bangladesh exports huge amount of clothes to America.
