/ News / By Anita Sharma

Arunachal Pradesh Tourism: Arunachal Pradesh Tourism launched a new policy and brand identity to establish itself as a global tourist destination. The tagline of this initiative announced at the Shangri-La Eros Hotel in New Delhi on behalf of Tourism Minister Pasang Dorji Sona is “Arunachal: beyond myth and mountains.”

Minister Sona said, “The main objective of our new tourism policy is to establish Arunachal Pradesh as a world-class tourist destination, its ancient landscape, rich tribal culture and unique biodiversity, along with promoting sustainable tourism and community empowerment.”

What is the new tourism policy

Tourism Director Manjunath R said that Rebranding shows the untouched beauty of the state. He said, “The new identity is an invitation to know the untouched aspect of India, which is very rich.” The policy has focused focus on experiential tourism with major areas such as agricultural tourism, wine tourism, welfare and spiritual tourism, adventure tourism, film tourism, ecoturism, tribal tourism, MICE (meetings, encouragement, conferences and exhibitions) tourism and border tourism.

To support this approach, the government will invest in capacity building and skill development. Advisor to the minister, MLA Mopi Mihu said that training programs will be started in collaboration with Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) and Hotel Management (IHM). He said, “In addition to providing skill training for small businesses and local guides, skill differences will be assessed to coordinate with industry demands.”

The policy also includes measures to attract investors, including a dedicated tourism facility cell to streamline district-level land bank and project approval. Tourism Secretary Ranfoa Nagova said, “A dedicated facility cell will be established as a one-stop solution to broadcast information to investors and remove their concerns.”

Arunachal minister made this request

Minister Sona said, “There is a lot to see in Arunachal, so I would like to request every person present here to come to experience Arunachal and tell the world how beautiful it is and how much it is for tourists here.”
