Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the historic New Pamban Bridge in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu on 6 April 2025 on 6 April 2025. This bridge is India’s first vertical lift C bridge, which is built above the sea. This bridge will improve sea traffic and people will also be able to travel.

Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the Rameswaram-Tambaram (Chennai) new train service during this program. This train service will make it easier for passengers to travel and will also save time. Modi ji said that both these projects are a gift for the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
At this inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi said that this bridge and train service are not only to open new avenues of development for Tamil Nadu, but for the whole country. These projects will promote both tourism and business in the entire region, and the local people will also benefit.
