New Delhi. Australia has announced its playing eleven for the Boxing Day Test against India. Travis Head has been declared fit for this match. Due to his injury during the Gabba Test, doubts were being raised about his playing in this important match. Head is in top form in this series and has scored two consecutive centuries. Australia’s batting would have become weak in his absence.
Australia’s vice-captain Travis Head scored a brilliant 140 runs in 141 balls in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, helping Australia win by 10 wickets. He also scored another century in Brisbane. Opening batsman Sam Constas will make his career debut while Scott Boland will replace injured Josh Hazlewood in the playing eleven. Constas has replaced Nathan McWhinney, who flopped in the first 2 tests. Hazlewood has been ruled out of the series due to calf injury.
Boland played the pink-ball test and took 5 wickets. This right-arm fast bowler had dismissed Shubhman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli and Mohammad Siraj. Australia captain Pat Cummins said, “Travis is ready to play, he will play. He did some last things today and yesterday. There is no concern about Travis’s injury. He will enter the game fully fit. I don’t think they will need much change. He will just play like that. “Maybe while fielding, if he feels a little uncomfortable, we will manage him, but he is completely fit.”
