Pahalgam terror attack impact: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Government of India issued a decree for Pakistani citizens living in our country. Under which he was ordered to leave India and return to his country. Tuesday was the last day of implementation of this decree. This order was for those Pakistani citizens who came to India on short term visas. Due to this decision, all the Pakistanis have left India. Such Pakistani left India
Attari border i.e. the door that opens in Pakistan on one side and in India on the other side. For the last four days, this door was opening again and again, because those who go across the border and those who come here from the side of the border had less time and they had to reach their homes quickly. April 29 was deadline. Every Pakistani living in India till April 29 was required to go back to Pakistan, in the first four days, 537 Pakistanis have gone back to Pakistan from this attic border. Which includes 9 diplomats and officers of Pakistani Duvat present in New Delhi. Apart from many Pakistani attic border, the airport has also left India. There is no direct flight between India and Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistani citizens have gone from here to Pakistan despite other countries.
Foreign Secretary had announced
Like different states of the country, a total of 118 Pakistani in Uttar Pradesh also came to India on a valid visa. After identifying all this, all these Pakistanis have also been sent to Pakistan. On 23 April, a press conference was held by the Foreign Secretary of India. In it, he gave information about 5 decisions taken by the Government of India after the Pahalgam attack. One of these information was that visas of all 14 categories of Pakistani citizens present in India are being canceled. Along with this, he also informed that all the visa holders of these categories will have to leave India within two days i.e. 25 April. However, later this deferment was increased to 29 April.
Action on visa holders of 14 categories
The Foreign Secretary clearly said that the visa holders of 14 categories who have come to India from Pakistan will have to leave from India. After the decision of the Government of India to send back Pakistanis, about 600 Pakistanis have been sent to Pakistan till 29 April. Whereas in this issue, about 850 Indians have come to India from Pakistan. These include 14 diplomats and official present in the Pakistani Embassy.
Visa of these categories canceled
After the decision of the Government of India on 23 April, the categories of Pakistani citizens whose visas were canceled are-
- SAARC Visa – These visa are given to players, judges and high profile people. Common citizens do not get this.
- Business Visa – Visa given to Pakistani citizens for business in India
- Visitor Visa – Visa given to meet relatives or family
- Conference Visa – Visa given to participate in seminar or conference
- Journalist Visa – Visa given to news agency, media and journalists
- Transcendent Visa – Visa given to go to a third country via India
- Film Visa – Visa given to work in film or TV shows in India
- Student Visa – Visa given to students to study in India
- Group Tourist Visa – Group of Pakistani tourists to visit India
- Pilgrim and Group Pilgrim Visa – visa for visiting religious places in India and for pilgrimage
- Mountaineering Visa – Visa given for mountain tracking in India
- Medical Visa – Visa given for treatment in India
Except for a medical visa, the period of leaving India for Pakistani visa holders of all other categories is over. Only medical visa holders were granted by 29 April. That too on humanitarian grounds. That is, Pakistani citizens who came to India on the medical ground were allowed to stay two days more than the rest of the visa holders. This was done so that the treatment does not remain incomplete in the middle and their documents are ready on time. In medical visas, two attendants are also given visas with a patient.
There is no effect on Pakistanis who came on long term visa
Apart from this, the Government of India also gives long term visas to Pakistani citizens. Usually this visa is given to the minority Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhist, Jains and Christians of Pakistan. Long term visa occurs for 1 to 5 years, which can also be extended. At present, the decision taken about Pakistani citizens after the Pahalgam attack will not affect the Pakistani citizens living in India on the long term visa. The Pakistani woman who is married to Indian Nagrik will not make any difference. They will not be sent to Pakistan. However, such pictures and stories also came during this period in which the son has suddenly been separated from the mother and the wife has suddenly been separated from her husband.
Pakistani citizens sent back from all states
About 1 thousand Pakistanis were living from Maharashtra on a short term visa, who were asked to leave India. There were 118 Pakistanis in UP, all of which have left India. According to the Bihar government, there were 19 Pakistanis in Bihar, they have left Bihar before the deadline of 27 April. There were 228 Pakistanis in Madhya Pradesh, who were asked to leave the country immediately. There were 12 such Pakistanis in Odisha, who were sent to Pakistan before 27 April.
According to the Goa government, Pakistanis who came to Goa on a short term visa have been sent back. There were a total of 7 Pakistani in Gujarat, who came on a short term visa. Of these, 5 were in Ahmedabad and one each in Bharuch and Vadodra. All of them have returned to Pakistan. Similarly, about 600 Pakistanis were living on short term visas in South India. Half of the 102 Pakistani citizens who came to Kerala came on medical visas. There were a total of 208 Pakistanis in Hyderabad. In Delhi too, more than 100 Pakistanis were living on short term visas, all of them have also been sent to Pakistan.
Provision of punishment
If a Pakistani citizen does not return to Pakistan, even after 29 April, then it will be considered illegal foreigner. Such criminals can be arrested and prosecuted. There can also be a punishment ranging from one to five years.
