The deceased has been identified as Pawan Prakash Pathak, a resident of Pune. His wife Richa Shandilya and car driver Akhilesh Singh were seriously injured. Both the injured have been admitted to the emergency ward of Sadar Hospital.
Pawan Prakash’s wife Richa Shandilya is also a lawyer in the Supreme Court.
Pawan was married to Richa Shandilya of Bettiah two months ago. After completing Donga ritual on Thursday, he was going to Gorakhpur in a rented car. From there he was to go to Delhi by bus with his wife, but the accident took place on the way.
The truck who escaped after the incident has been caught by the Bettiah police.

The team reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital. The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem. The information of the incident has been given to the relatives of the deceased.
