The rain in Delhi-NCR late Friday night gave relief to the people struggling with the scorching heat. There was also hailstorm in some areas, which recorded a drop in temperature and the weather became pleasant. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that Yellow alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday in Delhi. It is estimated that the temperature will remain below 40 degrees Celsius for the next few days. Along with this, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with thunderstorms.

On Thursday, the main weather center of Delhi at Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius, which was one degree below normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees above normal. At 8:30 in the morning, the humidity level in the air was 59 percent, which decreased to 43 percent by 5:30 pm.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of strong thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rains in many parts of northern, eastern and southern India in the next few hours. A warning has been issued especially for North Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, South-West Rajasthan, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, South Ganges Coastal West Bengal and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Raigadha districts in Odisha are expected to blow strong winds at a speed of 60 to 70 kmph in the next two hours. There has been a warning of lightning and heavy rainfall in these areas, which can affect life.

The Meteorological Department has warned that these winds can damage raw houses, trees and crops. Also, there is a possibility of disrupting power and communication lines. People have been advised to take refuge in pucca houses, stay away from trees and electric poles, and do not get out in the open. Farmers have been asked to stop their agricultural work due to bad weather.
