India Pakistan Tension Rajnath Singh Dialed Us Defense Secretary PETE HEGSETH

US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth spoke to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on the phone on Thursday (May 1, 2025) amidst increasing tension in India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack. Hegseth said that America supports India’s right to self -defense and the fight against terrorism.

Rajnath Singh told Hegseth that Pakistan has been exposed as a wicked country which is promoting global terrorism and destabilizing the region. According to an official statement, the Defense Minister said during the conversation that the world can no longer be blind to terrorism.

Rajnath Singh’s office said in a post on social media that Hegseth said that the US stands with India in solidarity and supports India’s right to self -defense. The post said, “He reiterated the strong support of the US government in India’s fight against terrorism.”

The statement issued by the Ministry of Defense said, “The Defense Minister told the US Defense Minister that Pakistan has a history of supporting, training and financing terrorist organizations.” The ministry quoted Rajnath Singh as saying, “Pakistan has been exposed as a wicked country, which is promoting global terrorism and destabilizing the region.” The world can no longer be blindly turning towards terrorism.

He said that it is important for the global community to clearly condemn such heinous acts of terrorism and in one voice and oppose them. The ministry said that Hegseth called Rajnath Singh and expressed his sympathy and condolences on the death of innocent citizens in the brutal Pahalgam terror attack.

Hegseth and Rajnath Singh made this discussion Foreign Minister Dr. S.K. One day after talking between Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to the US statement, Rubio apprised Jaishankar of the US commitment to cooperate with India against terrorism and also encouraged India to work closely with Pakistan to reduce tension in South Asia and to maintain peace and security.

Citing cross -border relations in the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, India has promised to punish those involved in the attack. 26 people were killed in this attack.
