New Delhi. On one hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal is making waves in Australia, on the other hand, one of his world records has been broken in the country itself. Ayush Mhatre has broken Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record of becoming the youngest player to score an innings of more than 150 runs in List A cricket. The special thing is that Ayush Mhatre made a new record while playing for the same Mumbai side for which Yashasvi Jaiswal had made it.

Ayush Mhatre played an inning of 181 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Tuesday. He hit 15 fours and 11 sixes in his 117-ball innings against Nagaland. Mumbai scored 403 runs thanks to this innings of Ayush Mhatre. In response, Nagaland team could score only 214 runs for 9 wickets. Mumbai won this match by 189 runs. This is Mumbai’s third win in 5 matches. He is at third position in the group with 12 points.

Ayush Mhatre has played an innings of 181 runs at the age of 17 years and 168 days. This is the first time in List A cricket (50-50 over matches) that such a young batsman has played an innings bigger than 150 runs. Earlier this record was in the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi Jaiswal had scored a double century against Jharkhand at the age of 17 years and 291 days. Yashasvi had then played an inning of 203 runs in 154 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy itself. Jaiswal had hit 12 sixes and 17 fours in this innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently on Australia tour. Most of India’s batsmen are proving to be flops on this tour, while on the other hand, they are scoring successful runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century in Perth, scored 82 runs in the first innings of the Melbourne Test and 84 runs in the second innings.
