The roofs and walls of schools are falling in Rajasthan since the death of seven children due to the collapse of Jarrr School in Jhalawar in Rajasthan. After the death of a child after falling the school gate in Jaisalmer, the Rajasthan government has decided to close the school in half a dozen districts including tribal and border areas during the rainy season.
There are about eight thousand schools in Rajasthan, which require repair. After continuous accidents, a budget of Rs 16952.95 lakh has been approved for repairing 1936 schools. However, 194 crores have been released so far.
In tribal areas like Banswara and Dungarpur, when the district administration came to know about the condition of schools, it was found that half the schools in this area are dilapidated, after which it was decided that the schools of both the districts will be closed during half the rainy season. Similarly, after the incident of Jhalawar, the school has been closed till the next order in Kota, Baran and Jhalawar of Kota division.
19 thousand schools need repair
In the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly last year, the government presented the data that 47933 rooms of 19706 schools need to be repaired. Surprisingly, in the last 25 years, nothing has been done to repair these schools under the rule of 10 -year Vasundhara government and 15 -year -old Ashok Gehlot government.
At the same time, dilapidated schools have been holidayed till the schools are repaired. Somewhere in the entire district, there will be a holiday in schools. Instructions have been given to the district administration and education officers that the container should be provided till the repair is made. Classes will be held in the container itself.
Education Minister gave this information
Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that after the audit of the schools which will be repaired, the schools will be written on how long the duration of the building is. Along with this, the Union Human Resource Minister has called to Delhi after the Jhalawar incident. In such a situation, the center has also agreed to provide assistance for the dilapidated schools of Rajasthan.
At the same time, Madan Dilawar has said on the political political about his statements, ‘My words have been distorted and presented. I did not say that I cannot repair the school with my money. Journalists asked how long the dilapidated schools would be repaired, so we had said to be done soon. Then the journalists asked how long the repair would be done, so we said that from the government budget to the tender and initially some time takes some time, but still we said that you have to work in minimum time. In this way, if we give a government money to make a school to build a school, then we will be accused of corruption.
Accidents happening after another
In Jhalawar, the wall of the school’s school collapsed, in which seven children died and two are seriously injured. Four days after the Jhalawar incident, the first grade student Arbaaz died after being buried under the stone of the school gate in the village Poonamnagar of BJP MLA Chhotu Singh of Jaisalmer.
