A Mumbai court has sentenced a person named Kamran Khan to a two -year jail and a fine of Rs 10,000 for making a threatening call to the police. In November 2023, Kamran Khan called the Mumbai Police Control Room and said that Dawood Ibrahim is asking him to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi by giving him Rs 5 crore. He also claimed that the people of Dawood are ready to bomb UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by giving him Rs 1 crore.
Not only this, Khan also told the police that he is going to blow up JJ Hospital in Mumbai. After this threat, the police immediately came into action and started the investigation.
When this case reached the court, Khan described himself as mentally unwell. But the court rejected this claim as no evidence was presented in support of it. The court said that such false calls mislead the administration and pressurize the security agencies.
The court said in its judgment, ‘The accused has been doing such actions again and again. It has a wrong effect on the government and security agencies, so it cannot be taken lightly.
Court imposed a fine
The court sentenced the accused to a two -year sentence and a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 505 (2) (Communal Vimanana) and Section 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Police said that this call was made from Khan’s mobile number itself, whose strong evidence was presented in the court. After this, the court convicted and sentenced him.
