Due to the monsoon, the rainy season continues across the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has estimated heavy rains in UP, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 23 hours today (July 23, 2025) and in the next 23 hours. According to the IMD, heavy rains are likely in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Konkan and Goa in the next few days.

The Meteorological Department is expected to receive very heavy rains at different places in Kullu, Chamba, Mandi and Kangra in the next 3 hours in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. Yellow alerts have been issued in areas of Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Shimla, Solan, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Sirmaur.

Relief from heavy rains in Rajasthan
There is some relief from heavy rains in Rajasthan. On Tuesday (July 22, 2025), many districts including Bharatpur, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli received 2 inches of rain. The heat increased after the rain slowed down in western Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of increase in rain activities in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, alert of thunderstorms and thunderstorms has been issued in about 52 districts, including western, eastern and many other areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Flood threat in Bihar
The water level of Ganga and Budhi Gandak river is increasing rapidly in Bihar, due to which water has started entering the flood areas. However, water had not reached the houses till Tuesday evening, but due to the flood, crops have been submerged on a large scale. The Ganges is flowing 33 cm above the danger mark.

Orange alert in many districts of Kerala
IMD has issued an orange alert for 9 districts of Kerala, warning of heavy rains. There may be heavy rains in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod. At the same time, Yellow alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts.
