Violence took place after Friday prayers in Bareilly, UP. In this case, the police have arrested 49 people so far. On the previous day i.e. Saturday, 8 people, including Maulana Tauqir Raza, were arrested. After that, during the raid overnight, the police arrested 41 more accused. In this way, a total of 49 people have been arrested so far. Apart from this, 9 others have been detained for questioning.

According to news agency PTI, officials said that 10 FIRs have been registered against 180 named people in riot and other charges. The accused named include Raza Khan, the head of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, who is allegedly accused of calling for protests. Apart from this, 2500 unknown people have been accused.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned this violence and warned that whoever spreads uproar in the name of religion and disrupting festivals will not be spared.

At the same time, District Magistrate Avinash Singh told in the press conference that Maulana Tauqir Raza and 7 other accused of this violence in Bareilly were arrested and produced in court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Police said that seven other accused have been identified as Sarfaraz, Manifuddin, Azim Ahmed, Mohammad Sharif, Mohammad Aamir, Rehan and Mohammad Sarfaraz.
