India searched the third number from the tour of Australia. On the tour of Australia, India fielded Devdutt Padikkal at number three in the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Padikal Perth could not open the account despite playing 23 balls in the first innings of the Test, while he was dismissed for 25 runs in the second innings.
