A bribe of Rs 55 lakh has been taken from hawala for the recognition of Medical College at Sri Rawatpura Sarkar Medical College (SrimSR) in Nawa Raipur. In this case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested 6 people, including 3 doctors on Tuesday.

Among the arrested accused, Dr. Manjappa CN, Dr. Chaitra MS, Dr. Ashok Shelke, Atul Kumar Tiwari, Sathisha A and Ravichandra K.K. Are included. The CBI team produced all the accused in the special court of Raipur. During this time, the CBI has sought a five -day remand from the court. However, the court has not yet decided on this.
The CBI laid a net under planning on receiving strong information. On Tuesday, more than 40 locations were raided in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. All 6 accused have been caught red-handed during the transaction.

CBI accused of taking 55 lakhs to explain the investigation report correct
The defense counsel said that the CBI has accused doctors of taking 55 lakhs to make the investigation report correct for the recognition of the private medical college, which is wrong. Doctors came to work with their honesty, but the CBI arrested. CBI says that doctors were going to get money through hawala, but there is nothing like that.

In fact, on 30 June 2025, a team of 4 doctors came to SrimsR Raipur for inspection. This includes Dr. Manjappa CN, Professor and HOD (Orthopedics), Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences Karnataka, Dr. Satish of Bangalore, Dr. Chaitra MS and Dr. Ashok Shelke.
According to the CBI, all the members of the inspection team conspired with Atul Kumar Tiwari of SrimsR. Agreed to take bribe to issue inspection reports. Among the members of the inspection team, Dr. Manjappa CN instructed Dr. Satish to collect Rs 55 lakh from the hawala operator.
He also told Dr. Satish that he would get a call from the hawala operator how to collect the amount. Dr. Manjappa also spoke to another member of the inspection team, Dr. Chaitra. He told him that Dr. Satish will get his part at his residence.
After filing the case, the CBI laid a trap in Bengaluru to catch all the accused. A bribe amount of Rs 55 lakh was recovered from here. Out of the total amount of bribery, 16.62 lakh rupees have been recovered from Dr. Chaitra’s husband Ravindran and Rs 38.38 lakh from Dr. Manjappa’s aide Satish A.
