Age is just a number, if the courage is strong then any goal can be achieved. An example of this is presented by 62 -year -old cyclist Alok Bhandari of Panchkula. He completed the 428 km journey from Leh to Manali in less than 48 hours and International Book of Recording

Alok is a heart patient and he also underwent heart surgery in 2020. Despite this, he did not give up and made Cycling his routine after Kovid. Alok, who has retired from the Irrigation Department of the Punjab Government, traveled from Manali to Leh for the first time in 2022. Then it took them 5 days to complete this journey.
After this, he improved his record every year. In 2023, this journey was completed in 4 days, 3 days in 2024. And now in 2025, he traveled 428 kilometers in just 47 hours 32 minutes and set a new record.

War with weather and physical challenges Alok says that the weather is the biggest challenge in this journey. Oxygen is very low in many places on the way. But he completed it with constant training and strong intentions. He said that this record was decided in June and started preparations from January. Cycling for hours daily, took a diet rich in protein and did not allow water shortage during the journey.

Mental strength is most important Alok says that mental strength is most important to overcome difficult paths and strict challenges of weather. They believe that if a person is determined, then at any age, new history can be created by defeating the biggest challenge.
