In case of false testimony on former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the local court imposed a fine of Rs 500 and closed the case. This is the case of 1990, when he lodged an FIR for the alleged attack on him.
What is the whole matter?
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh lodged a report at the Nawabganj police station in 1990 that on September 8, some people had come to his house for talks. Meanwhile, a person fired at him, but he survived. He alleged that two other people attacked him with a knife, causing him to hurt his hand.
After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against the three accused. During the hearing, two of these accused died, while the case continued against the third accused, Virendra Kumar Mishra. But when Brij Bhushan reached the court to testify, he could not recognize Mishra and he also denied the incident. The defense then demanded to acquit Mishra, which the court accepted on 11 September 2023 and acquitted him.
