There was a stir at Aligarh Junction railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday afternoon when a two -year -old girl mysteriously went missing. The girl was sleeping on the platform with her mother, when an unknown young man took her up. This entire incident has been captured in the CCTV camera installed at the railway station.
According to the report of the news agency, the victim’s family hails from Gaya district of Bihar. The girl’s father Dharmendra Manjhi works as a laborer in a brick kiln in Atrauli, Aligarh. The work was stopped due to the monsoon in the brick kiln, and the whole family stopped at the station to return to their village.
Dharmendra Manjhi told the police that he had gone out of the station for some time. When he returned, his wife Sona Manjhi was found crying. He told that his daughter, who was sleeping next to him, suddenly disappeared. The nervous family immediately reached the GRP outpost of Aligarh railway station and lodged a report of the girl’s disappearance.
Railway Police Inspector Sandeep Tomar said that a young man has been seen picking up the girl on the CCTV footage. The police have registered a case of kidnapping against the unknown accused and all the nearby railway stations and bus bases have been alerted.
SHO Sandeep Tomar said that teams have been formed in search of the girl and the investigation is going on fast. However, no clue of the girl has been found till Friday. After the incident, questions are also being raised about security at the station. Railway administration has been accused of negligence on the safety of passengers and care of children.
