Aap congress alliance failure: Before the Delhi assembly elections, there were speculations that there would be an alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). However, this alliance could not be done and after this questions started to arise as to why both parties did not come together in Haryana. This directly caused damage to both parties and the BJP formed the government in both the states. There was an alliance in Maharashtra too, but the seats could not be divided properly.
The Aam Aadmi Party has made a big disclosure about the reason for not having an alliance with the Congress, which was mentioned by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in the mouthpiece of Saamana. Sanjay Raut said that when there was a conversation between Aditya Thackeray and Arvind Kejriwal, there was no agreement between the two on seat sharing. In this conversation, Arvind Kejriwal’s attitude on the alliance with the Congress became clear.
Congress did not alliance due to insistence of Congress
Arvind Kejriwal made it clear in a meeting with Aditya Thackeray that the alliance could not be formed due to the stubborn attitude of the Congress. Kejriwal told Aditya that the Congress party was not ready to leave a single seat, while the Aam Aadmi Party was ready for the alliance. Raghav Chaddha also interacted with the leadership of the Congress in this regard, but still there was no way for the alliance.
How was the seat sharing in Haryana?
In this meeting, the former Delhi CM had told Aditya Thackeray that when he was in jail, Haryana assembly elections were held. Raghav Chaddha was looking at the strategy of this election and he expected an alliance with the Congress, but in the proposal received by the Congress, only six seats were given which were very low according to Kejriwal. Despite this, the Aam Aadmi Party tried to compromise and also talked about four seats, but again the situation changed and they were offered only two seats.
Questions raised on Congress policy
Kejriwal told Sanjay Raut that from the policy of Congress, it seems clearly that Rahul Gandhi is not truly considered as ‘boss’ in the party. He said that Rahul Gandhi once promised six seats, but later he came from four to two. Despite this, the Congress did not take any concrete steps about the alliance, which caused heavy loss to the Aam Aadmi Party.
Discussion on the strategy of upcoming elections
Now the question arises that what will be the effect of not having an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress on the next assembly elections. Especially in view of the upcoming elections in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, the Aam Aadmi Party is considering its strategy. Will the party try to alliance again with the Congress or will it come to the electoral fray alone.
