Muslims in West Bengal, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam protested on the roads in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill on Friday.
The Waqf Amendment Bill has passed both from the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. It will now be sent to the President. This will become a law after their consent. But before this, the opposition and many Muslim organizations have reached the Supreme Court against it.
On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan has filed a petition in the Supreme Court in protest against the bill. Earlier on Friday, two petitions were filed in the Supreme Court. Congress MP from Kishanganj in Bihar Mohammad Javed and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi filed this petition.

The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha on April 2 and 3 after a 12–12-hour discussion. After passing the bill from the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh had said that the Congress will go to the Supreme Court. DMK of Tamil Nadu also said to file a petition.
