Rivers are in spate due to heavy rains in Banda, Uttar Pradesh for the last few days and continuous rains on the mountains of Madhya Pradesh. The major rivers of the district, Ken and Yamuna, are now causing havoc. Especially the Ken River has crossed the danger mark and flood water has entered many villages.
Actually, the danger mark of Kane River is 104 meters, while it is currently flowing at 104.97 meters. At the same time, the Yamuna river is still below the danger mark, but the water is growing rapidly in it. Due to this, there is a threat in the low -lying areas. The most affected areas in Banda are Palani and Sadar Tehsils. The impact of floods is visible in villages like Shankar Purva, Kanwara, Khaptiha Kala, Amara, Dera.

In many places, road connectivity of villages has been lost due to flooding of reports (roadways). In view of the situation, the administration has arranged boats in the affected areas, so that people can get necessary facilities and can be transported to safe places in emergency.
ADM said this in the case
ADM (Finance and Revenue) Rajesh Kumar said that the water level in the Ken River may increase further and it is likely to reach 106 meters. So far no village is completely submerged, but many ways have been submerged in water. The administrative team is completely cautious and is engaged in relief work. People are being alerted in the affected villages and the administration teams are fully active to deal with any emergency.
