Abu Qatal Killed in Pakistan: Jamaat-ud-Dawa commander and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Abu Katal was killed by unknown assailants in Jhelum district of Pakistan. He was involved in several terrorist attacks, including the 2024 rhyasi terrorist attacks and was also monitoring the attack.
Who was Abu Katal?
Abu Katal’s real name was Faisal Nadeem, a major operational commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let). He was the nephew and close aide of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Hafiz Saeed gave him the responsibility of terrorist attacks in Kashmir.
Abu Katal killed in Pakistan
Abu Katal was killed on Saturday night (March 15, 2025) in Dina area of Jhelum district of Pakistan’s Punjab province. He was protected by the Pakistani Army and Lashkar-e-Taiba, but unknown assailants fired 15-20 rounds on his car, killing him on the spot. One of his companions was also killed in this attack, while another was injured.

NIA charge sheet and terrorist activities against Abu Katal
NIA filed a charge sheet on 26 February 2024.
The charge sheet was related to the terrorist attack on 1 January 2023 in Dhangri village of Rajouri district.
Innocent civilians were killed in this attack.

NIA was named in the most wanted list
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a charge sheet against Abu Katal and was on the target of India’s security agencies for a long time. According to some reports, there were reports of Hafiz Saeed injured in this attack, but later confirmed that he was safe in Lahore. Hafiz Saeed has been involved in many terrorist attacks in India and is the main conspirator of 26/11 attacks.
