A warrant officer of the Indian Air Force died on Friday during a parachute training exercise in Agra. Police said that the parachute of warrant officer Manjunath could not open on time, causing him to fall down and was seriously injured.
11 soldiers landed safely, one painful death
According to the report of the news agency, a total of 12 trainee jawans led by Wing Commander Rohit Dahiya jumped from an Indian Air Force aircraft at 8:30 am. Out of these, 11 soldiers landed safely, but the parachute of warrant officer Manjunath could not open, due to which he fell directly into the wheat field.
Soon after the incident, other Air Force personnel reached the spot and rushed the injured Manjunath to Agra Air Force Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Warrant officer Manjunath was a resident of Karnataka and was posted in Agra Air Force Base. Air Force officials and colleagues have expressed grief over his accidental demise.
Malpura police station in -charge Pramod Sharma confirmed that the legal process of the incident has been completed, which includes Panchnama and post -mortem. Now the Air Force and police officers are working together for further investigation so that the cause of the incident can be ascertained.
Air Force will conduct a detailed investigation into the incident
Following this unfortunate incident, the Indian Air Force has started a thorough investigation into the case to find out that the parachute did not open due to technical fault or any other reason was responsible.
