Actor -turned -politician Vijay Thalapati rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, killed 36 people in a stampede. Many people are seriously injured in the accident. Meanwhile, actor Vijay’s first response to the accident has come to light. He said that my heart was broken. I am suffering from pain.

At least 36 people died on Saturday (September 27, 2025) in a rally organized under the leadership of Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay. According to the information, more than 45 injured people have been admitted to the hospital in the stampede. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Subramaniam gave this information.

State Chief Minister MK Stalin held a meeting with higher officials to review the situation. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the deaths in the stampede. The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a report in the case from the Tamil Nadu government. According to officials, when Vijay was addressing the rally, at least 30 people fainted and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

When Vijay was addressing the gathering, the crowd grew and the situation became uncontrollable. Meanwhile, many people including party workers and some children fell unconscious. Many activists sensed the situation and made a noise. Vijay paid attention to this and tried to stop his speech, especially the publicity made to deliver water bottles to the people from above the bus.

The ambulance had to struggle a lot to reach the spot via crowded road. Realizing the situation, Vijay ended his speech before the scheduled time. Prime Minister Modi said on the social media platform ‘X’, “The unfortunate incident during a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu is very sad. My condolences are with those families who have lost their loved ones. I wish to provide strength to them in this difficult time. I pray for the early health of all the injured.”

Chief Minister Stalin said that ‘information from Karur is worrisome’. Stalin can go to Karur on Sunday. He said that Health Minister Ma Subramaniam and District Magistrate advised to provide all possible help. He has also asked Minister Anubil Mahesh to go to Karur to provide assistance. Minister, top administrative and police officers have reached Karur on the information of the incident.

Chief Minister Stalin said that he has instructed the top police officers to take appropriate steps to restore normal conditions in Karur. Stalin appealed to the general public to cooperate with doctors and police in Karur.
