After 57 years, an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Argentina, welcomed PM Modi with ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ – PM Modi Arrives in Argentina on Two Day Visit India First Prime Ministerial Trip in 57 Years NTC

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires as part of his two -day visit late Friday evening, where he was given a grand traditional welcome. He was given a guard of honor at AGESA International Airport.

After this, when he reached the hotel, members of the Indian community welcomed him strongly with the slogans of “Modi-Modi” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The Prime Minister was greeted with a cultural dance program.

This journey is important in many ways because for the first time after 57 years, an Indian Prime Minister has reached Argentina on a bilateral visit. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited Argentina for the G20 summit in 2018 but this is his first official bilateral visit.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on X (Twitter), “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the lively city of Buenos Aires on the official visit to celebrate permanent friendship among our countries. He was formally welcomed when he reached the airport. It is the first bilateral visit of Argentina by an Indian Prime Minister in 57 years, which is the beginning of the new scholarship.

Meeting will be held with President Xavier Milei

Prime Minister Modi will meet President Xavier Milei during his visit to Argentina, which will be discussed to increase cooperation in areas like defense, agriculture, minerals, oil-gas, renewable energy, trade, tourism and technology.

Before leaving for Argentina, PM Modi said, “Argentina is an important economic partner of India in Latin America and also our close aide in G20. During the conversation with President Milei, we will further strengthen bilateral cooperation.”

After this, PM will leave Brazil and Namibia

The yatra is the third stop of the Prime Minister’s visit to five countries. Earlier, he reached Trinidad and Tobago, where he was awarded the country’s highest civilian honor ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’. In the fourth phase of his visit, Modi will go to Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS summit, after which he will travel to the state. Modi will go to Namibia in the last phase of his visit.
