New Delhi. Sanju Samson, who is a badly flop during the T20 series against England, will have to stay out of the field for the next few days. This wicketkeeper-batsman has fractured in the finger. The injury suffered from Jofra Archer’s bouncer during the fifth T20 match played against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. According to the report, they are going to return to the next 5 to 6 weeks to return from injury.
According to PTI report, 30 -year -old Samson has returned to his home Thiruvananthapuram and will return to training after rehab in the National Cricket Academy (NCA). They will need approval to return to the team. An unknown source of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Samson will take five to six weeks to return to the nets. This means that he will not be able to play in the quarterfinal match of Kerala against Jammu and Kashmir from 8 February. Now Sanju will directly play for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
A BCCI source anonymously told PTI, “Samson has a fracture in his finger. It will take five to six weeks to return to the nets. So there is no chance for him to play in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal (against Jammu and Kashmir) for Kerala, there is a possibility that his return will be for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, “
At the beginning of the innings in the fifth match against England, Samson hit a six. But the short delivery off Archer’s third ball hurt Samson’s glove and had to call Physio. He scored 16 runs in the first over despite the injury. His innings ended at Deep Square-Leg.
According to the report, swelling increased after reaching the dugout. Due to this, Samson stood on the bench in the second innings and Dhruv Jurlel replaced him. The scan revealed that he has a fracture in his index finger.
