Today is the eighth day of Chaitra Navratri and tomorrow these auspicious days will end with Ramnavami. In these 9 days of Chaitra Navratri, 9 forms of Maa Durga are worshiped with great pomp. Maa Durga is called from many names like Goddess Amba, Jagat Mata. According to the scriptures, the reason for the appearance of Mother Durga was the victory of good over evil. And to end this evil, the demons named Maa Durga Mahishasura, Dhumrolochan, Chand-Mund, Shumbha-Nishumbha were killed. After ending the pride of Chand-Mund, the universe gave a new name to Maa Durga. However, the most arrogant and powerful demon among all these demons was bloodbies. The slaughter of bloodbies is also mentioned in the eighth chapter of Durga Saptashati. So let us know from Satyarth Nayak’s ‘Mahagatha’ that who was the bloodbies and how mother Durga killed that demon.
Seeing the slaughter of big asuras like Chand and Mund, Mahasur started to fight with Maa Durga with a mace in his hand. In fact, due to the harsh penance, the bloodbies had the amazing boon that if a single drop of his blood fell on the earth, then on one side, a second Mahadity will be born on the earth. And as soon as Maa Durga was hitting the bloodbies in the battlefield, the drop of blood would fall on the ground and thousands of new blood seeds would be produced from every drop. Seeing this, Mother Durga became very angry. Their eyebrows were tanned in anger, and this intense concentration led to the presence of mother Kali.
Origin of Maa Kali
The whole universe was shaken by the fierce roar of mother Kali. The demons standing near him immediately consumed their intense energy and the effects of rapid anger. Mother Kali, renounced the cover of tiger skin and appeared in a naked form. His blood -filled eyes were burning, in the ornate form of skulls, he seemed full of wild power. The third eye on his forehead was shining with a strong light and his form was extremely frightening.
After coming in this terrible form, mother broke on the huge army of Kali Raktabej. One by one, he killed all the demons and eventually he himself faced bloodbies. On seeing her, mother Kali’s anger increased more. He spread his tongue so much that the entire blood of blood seeds began to face it. Now wherever the blood of the bloodbase falls, the mother Kali immediately drinks it, which did not make her origin possible again. Even after ending the bloodbies, the wrath of mother Kali did not calm down. His fierce form became so terrible that the threat of destruction of the entire creation arose. Seeing this horrific situation, the gods got nervous and reached Lord Shiva. All the gods begs Lord Shiva that only you can calm this gigantic anger of mother Kali.
Lord Shiva calmed mother Kali
It was no less than a challenge for Lord Shiva to calm the fierce anger of Maa Kali. Therefore, he adopted a device and lay down in the path of mother Kali. As soon as Vikal Maa Kali put his foot on Lord Shiva’s chest with anger, she suddenly calmed down. Seeing Lord Shiva under his feet, his consciousness woke up, and his fierce anger gradually became calm. Thus, Lord Shiva protected the gods and saved the universe from possible destruction by stopping the catastrophic fury of mother Kali.
