Pak fans were hoping that the New Zealand team could soon be reduced but Glenn Philips’ intentions were different. Kiwi batter, who came to bat at number six, gave a huge score to New Zealand, a century in 72 balls.
The first ODI of the Tri -series was played between Pakistan and New Zealand on Saturday. New Zealand won the toss and batting first. He did not start well and opener Will Ying gave his wicket to Shaheen Afridi in the first over. The second opener Rachin Ravindra continued for 25 runs. This was followed by Kane Williamson (58) and Deril Mitchell (81). Before the New Zealand strengthened, Pakistan moved him to 135 for 4 wickets by giving him a double blow. Glenn Philips landed at the crease after Tom Latham was dismissed. He shared a 65 -run partner for the fifth wicket with Derryl Mitchell, playing fiercely.
