The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chairman Jennifer Homendi said, “The things that have come out are just speculating.” India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) has just released its preliminary report. This type of investigation takes time.

Homendi’s comment is about the report of American newspaper Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The report, released three days ago, claimed that the aircraft’s captain Sumit Sabharwal had stopped the supply of fuel in the engines.

The WSJ reported that the disclosure was made by the cockpit recording of the conversation between the two pilots. Voice recording revealed that Clive Kundar, who was flying Boeing aircraft, asked Captain Sumit Sabharwal, ‘Why did you make the fuel switch in’ Cutoff ‘position?’ Co-pilots were surprised while questioning. His voice was nervous, while Captain Sumit looked calm.

Air India flight AI 171 flew at 1.38 pm on June 12 and the accident occurred at 1.40 pm. At that time the plane was at an altitude of 200 feet.

AAIB said on the Wall Street Report- Wait Now The Wall Street Journal has given this to the US sources related to the investigation. After this, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has said that all people should wait for the final report to come. The investigation is still going on and it would not be right to reach any conclusion right now.

India also made public talks of pilots Earlier, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released its initial investigation report on the plane crash on 12 July. It said that the fuel switch suddenly moved from ‘Run’ to ‘Cutoff’ position, which stopped both engines.

However, the report did not explain how the fuel switches were closed. The Aaib report stated that a pilot was heard on the cockpit voice recorder asking the other why he stopped the fuel. The second pilot replied that he did not do so.

Air India said- Fuel switch of Boeing-787 aircraft not malfunction

On July 16, Air India informed about the completion of the checking feature of the fuel control switch (FCS) of all the aircraft of its Boeing-787 series. The airline company said in a message sent to its pilots that there was no malfunction in the fuel switch during the investigation.

The company said that the throttle control module (TCM) has also been changed in all Boeing-787 aircraft. Fuel control switch is an important part of TCM. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had instructed all airline companies on July 14 to check the fuel switch in all the aircraft of the Boeing-737 and 787 series by 21 July.

AI India has a total of 33 Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft. IndiGo has seven B-737 Max 8 and one B-787–9 aircraft. All these aircraft are on lease, weight lease or damp lease. Therefore, they are not registered in India.

Regarding the initial report of the accident, the government has said that it is being studied. No conclusion should be drawn on this.

Pilot organization said- Trying to tarnish the image of pilots The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP), an organization of pilots, has raised objections to the initial investigation report of the Air India aircraft accident. The organization said that it is hurry and irresponsible to blame the pilots without complete and transparent investigation.

FIP issued a statement appealing to the media, officials and others to avoid incomplete information or misunderstandings. On June 12, a flight AI from Ahmedabad to London collided with a medical hostel building 32 seconds after 171 takeoff. 270 people died in this.

FIP President CS Randhawa said that pilot organizations were not included in the investigation and the way the report has been introduced is unilateral and incomplete. He said that in the report, only parts of the conversation of the cockpit have been introduced by selecting and efforts are being made to tarnish the image of the pilots.
