The body of Akash Patni (14), who was sleeping near the tea shop, was handed over to his family in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 12 June. Akash Patni’s father Suresh Patni said that he was asked to take the body late on Monday night, but he could not perform the last rites of the body at night, so he took the body on Tuesday morning.

Suresh Patni told that his wife Sita Ben Patni, which was half burnt, is now recovering and she had to undergo surgery, but doctors have assured her that she is recovering. However, he has not given any time limit when he will be discharged from the civil hospital.
Sita Ben used to run a tea shop near the accident site and on June 12, when the plane crashed in the medical college campus, Akash came to give him lunch. Sita Ben managed to escape from the scene even after scorching, but Akash slept with her lunch box and never got up again.

No address of compensation …
The tea shop was the main source of the family’s livelihood, while Suresh Patni runs autorickshaw for some income. However, even after so many days, he has not received any news about any compensation from the officials.
Suresh Patni says that no one has contacted him about any kind of compensation. They say that if the passengers aboard the aircraft get compensation, then people like them should also get compensation, who have lost their family members. They hope that someone will contact them about this.
