Aimim Chief Asaduddin Owaisi Wrote a Letter to eci over special revision drive on Voter lists in bihar

Asaduddin Owaisi Letter to eci: All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Musslimin (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday (June 29). In this letter, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has objected to the special revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar.

In a letter to the Election Commission, Owaisi said, “There has already been a special intensive revision in the voter list of Bihar, which has been considered on issues such as rapid urbanization, frequent migrations, not informing deaths and including the names of foreign illegal migrants in the voter list and now these reasons are being cited to justify SIR.”

He said, “All these issues have been included in the special intensive amendment made by the Commission on all other states as well as on the previous occasions for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.”

Owaisi mentioned revision done in 2003

Referring to the intense revision made in Bihar in 2003, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “This was long before the 2004 Lok Sabha elections and the 2005 Bihar assembly elections, which gave voters a fair time to take legal measures to add or remove names.”

Sir This will have harmful effects on voters across the state- Owaisi

In a letter written on June 28, he said, “With this example, we want to register our first and biggest objection on the order of the SIR in Bihar, SIR will have a harmful effect on voters across the state due to being close to the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.”

Owaisi said, “Election Registration Officer (ERO)/Additional Election Registration Officer (AERO) has the right to not only present the necessary documents on the eligibility of the proposed voters, but also to doubt for any other reason.

Asaduddin Owaisi, MP from Hyderabad, requested the Election Commission to clarify the argument to implement the SIR and provide an opportunity to the opposition parties, including AIMIM, so that they could inform the Commission about their concerns.
