Air india flight: Air India flight AI126, coming from Chicago in America to Delhi, had to return 10 hours after flying. The reason for this was to block the toilets in the aircraft. The incident occurred on 6 March 2025, when 9 out of 10 toilets of Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft were closed.
It is being told that only a toilet of business class was operational, causing inconvenience to the passengers. Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the pilot decided to take the aircraft back to Chicago.
Flight in 10 hours of air
According to the PTI report, the flight remained in the air for about 10 hours on Thursday, March 6, 2025 due to the problem. The New York Post report shows that when the incident took place on 5 March, the aircraft was above Greenland. At that time, about 300 passengers had to use the only working toilet of business class.
Air India response
An Air India spokesman said that due to technical problem, the flight was returned and alternative arrangements were made for the passengers. According to PTI, Air India said, all the passengers and crew were safely landed by the aircraft when they landed in Chicago. Passengers were given the facility to stay to reduce inconvenience. Alternative flights were arranged to reach the destination. Passengers have been provided with full refund and re -booking facility for free on cancellation of tickets.
Explain that the toilet jam in the aircraft is not an unusual incident. Some similar incidents have happened earlier, after which the flight has been forced to return or landing. In 2016, a flight from Canada to Pakistan delayed a solid material stuck in a toilet. The Austrian Airlines flight to New York in April 2023 had to take a U-turn when 5 out of 8 toilets had stopped working.
Air India technical problems
In recent times, technical faults have been seen in many flights of Air India. On 25 January 2025, the flight of Air India Express going from Bengaluru to Visakhapatnam had to return due to technical fault. On March 2025, the Air India flight going to Singapore had to return to Chennai, when the pilots identified technical disturbances in the air itself.
