Emergency landing of flights: Questions have been raised once again about aviation safety in the country, when two major airlines’ flights IndiGo and SpiceJet had to return from the middle of the way due to technical malfunctions. There were hundreds of passengers in both the flights, but all the passengers were safe due to the vigilance of the pilots and the quick action of the airlines. While the IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Leh had to return shortly after the flight, the flight of SpiceJet from Hyderabad to Tirupati was also canceled due to technical disturbances. Airlines arranged alternative flights for the convenience of passengers and issued an official statement regarding the situation.

IndiGo flight 6E 2006, which left for Leh from Delhi at 6:30 am on Thursday morning, had to return to Indira Gandhi International Airport due to technical fault. It was reported that the aircraft had flew normally, but before reaching Leh, the technical problem was detected, after which the pilot decided to bring the aircraft back to Delhi. A total of 180 people, including the crew, were riding in the aircraft, which were taken away safely. IndiGo issued a statement saying that it was not emergency landing and this precautionary measure was taken keeping in mind the safety of all the passengers. The airline has arranged an alternative aircraft from which passengers will be sent to Leh.

SpiceJet flight going from Hyderabad to Tirupati also returned
SpiceJet’s Q400 flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati also had to return shortly after the flight due to technical fault. Shortly after flying on June 19, AFT baggage door warning was seen in the light, which the pilots decided to return to Hyderabad, giving priority to security. Passengers were normally taken out after a safe landing of the aircraft. SpiceJet clarified that it was not an emergency but a precautionary step. Alternative flight has been arranged for passengers.

Airlines statement and alternative arrangements
Indigo and SpiceJet regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers and said that security is their first priority. Both IndiGo and SpiceJet have arranged alternative flights, accepting the technical flaws in their respective aircraft. IndiGo also said that the operation of the aircraft will be resumed only after technical investigation and maintenance is completed. Airlines have said to release a detailed investigation report soon.
