AI’s Tokyo-Delhi flight A-I357 had to divert the precautionary Kolkata on the evening of June 29 due to continuous warm temperature in the cabin. The aircraft was safely landed in Kolkata and the technicians started its investigation. AI India said in a statement that our ground clans in Kolkata are providing all the necessary assistance to passengers to reduce the inconvenience from this unexpected diversion.
Air India said that alternative arrangements are being made to take the passengers of flight A-I357 to Delhi at the earliest. The airline company regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers. The flight flew from Haneda International Airport in Tokyo and was to land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

Earlier, in a similar incident on 23 June, 11 passengers, including six members of the crew, complained of nausea and dizziness in the London-Mumbai Flight (AI130) of Air India. Due to low cabin air pressure, the aircraft had to be brought to a safe height and some people were given medical treatment. According to aviation experts, the reduction of air pressure in the cabin is very rare, but sometimes this can happen due to technical fault. In such a situation, oxygen masks are dropped, so that passengers can help in breathing at higher height, where oxygen levels are low.

Earlier on Sunday, a plane of Ethiopian Airlines coming from Adis Ababa to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 1:42 pm on Friday due to the problem of low pressure in the middle air. 7 passengers sitting in this aircraft fell ill due to low air pressure in the cabin. Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner (Flight ET640, Registration ET-Axs) was flying at an altitude of 33,000 feet above the Arabian Sea, when the air pressure in the cabin was lowered. The pilot, following the Standard Emergency Protocol, tried to get down fast. At around 1:42 pm, the aircraft landed at Mumbai International Airport, where the medical team treated seven passengers, one of whom was admitted to the hospital.
