Air india tokyo-delhi flight: Another flight of Air India was diverted to Kolkata due to technical fault. AI’s Boeing 787 (VT-AAI) flight took off from Tokyo Henada to Delhi on Sunday, but on the way, some technical faults came to light in the flight’s air conditioner (AC).

After a malfunction in the AC, the cabin of the aircraft started heating up. Due to this, there was an atmosphere like chaos among the passengers sitting on the flight. After which the aircraft was diverted towards Kolkata and the aircraft made a safe landing at Kolkata Airport.

According to the data from flight tracking sites, Air India flight AI357 took off from Tokyo Henada to Delhi on Sunday (June 29, 2025) at 12.31 pm on Sunday (June 29, 2025), but after the AC malfunction in the middle way, the flight made landing in Kolkata at 3.33 pm.

The aircraft filled the flight from Haneda in Tokyo to Delhi

The Air India spokesperson said, “Air India flight AI357, which flew from Haneda to Delhi on Sunday (June 29, 2025), has been diverted towards Kolkata as a precaution due to the warm temperature of the flight cabin. The flight has a safe landing at Kolkata Airport.”

Aircraft being investigated in Kolkata

He said, “The fault in the AC of the aircraft in Kolkata is being investigated. All our ground colleagues in Kolkata are trying to make all the necessary arrangements to reduce the problems and discomfort due to this diversion.”

Alternative arrangements being made for passengers

The airline spokesman said, “We are making alternative arrangements to take all our passengers to Delhi as soon as possible. We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers due to technical malfunction and diversion in the aircraft.”
