In Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, security personnel from snow-capped area recovered a stock of weapons and ammunition. Officials said weapons and ammunition, which were wrapped in a blanket and were hidden in the hollow stem of a tree. He was recovered by a joint team of security forces in Anganpathri in Boniyar area.
Officials said the recovered weapons included three AK 47 rifles, 11 AK magazines, 292 AK rounds, one UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher), nine UBGL grenades and two grenades. He said that weapons and ammunition were hidden inside a hollow cedar tree and wrapped in a blanket.
After the recovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 07/2025 at Boniyar police station of Baramulla and further investigation is on.
According to reports, security forces had received information from intelligence sources that terrorists have hidden a large amount of weapons in the forests of Baramulla. On the basis of input, security forces started search operation in the area. During this time the security forces found a suspicious place, where weapons were hidden in a hollow cedar tree. The terrorists wrapped this stock in a blanket.
