The Amarnath Yatra started from 3 July.

The Amarnath Yatra has been postponed from August 3, 1 week before the scheduled time this year. According to officials, the recent heavy rains have caused losses on travel routes, which are necessary to fix.

Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said that repair work will be done on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes, so the journey has to be stopped. He said that it is not possible to resume the journey due to the frequent deployment of machines and personnel on the paths.

The Amarnath Yatra started from July 3 and was to end on Rakshabandhan on 9 August. But now it has been decided to stop it a week ago. So far this year, 4.10 lakh devotees have visited the Amarnath cave, while over 5.10 lakh devotees had arrived last year.
