All arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3 are almost complete. For devotees who have not yet registered online, offline registration in Jammu has started from Monday.

Special registration centers have been set up by the administration. The first batch of pilgrims will leave from Bhagwatinagar base camp in Jammu on 2 July. The journey lasting 38 days will begin on both routes.

The traditional Pahalgam route in Anantnag district is 48 km long while the Baltal route in Ganderbal district is 14 km in length.

Tight security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir

Before the start of the yatra, there is strict security arrangements in the entire union territory. Due to this, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed Multi Stage Security, Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). This highway is one of the important routes of travel.

CRPF K-9 squad (dog squad) has also been deployed on the highway. For the pre-planning of Landslide, Army, CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Response Force on Sunday performed a joint mock drill on the highway at Samoroli, Toldi Nala.

Verification will be done through technical input and face recognition systems (FRS) in sensitive and congested areas.

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is deployed multi-stage security.

Devotees said- there is no fear of terrorists There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees about the yatra. A devotee who came to register, said, ‘This time people are excited. There is no fear even after the Pahalgam attack. The arrangements are good and the administration is with us.

Another devotee said, ‘I trust Baba Amarnath. Whatever the terrorists do, we will not have any effect on us. I request everyone to come to Jammu and Kashmir so that our army and government can say that we have no effect on the antics of terrorists.

Even after the Pahalgam attack, there is no fear among the devotees.

How to reach: Two routes for travel

1. Pahalgam Route: It takes 3 days to reach the cave with this route, but this path is easy. There is no standing climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. Climbing starts from here.

The journey reaches the flea top after three km climb. Walking from here, the journey reaches Sheshnag by evening. This journey is about 9 km. The next day, passengers from Sheshnag go to Pancharani. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. The cave from Panchatarni remains just 6 km.

2. Baltal Route: If the time is short, then Baba can go through the Baltal route for Amarnath Darshan. It has to climb only 14 km, but there is a very steep climb, so the elderly have problems on this path. There are narrow paths and dangerous turns on this route.

What to keep in mind …

During the journey, keep medical certificate, 4 passport size photos, Aadhaar card, RFID card, travel application form with you. Practice 4 to 5 km of walking every day in terms of physical fitness. Do pranayama and exercise like breath yoga. Keep woolen clothes, raincoats, tracking sticks, water bottles and bags of essential medicines with you in the journey.
