Jaisalmer Police of Rajasthan has arrested a person who was roaming across the state in a vehicle with red-blue lights by falsely claiming to be an RAS officer in the Secretariat. The accused had played this trick to save toll tax and get VIP treatment. SP says that further action is being taken in this matter.
Actually, Jaisalmer Kotwali police station in-charge Sawai Singh was on patrol with his team on Tuesday night. A silver colored Innova car was seen in the parking lot near Sonar Fort. There were red-blue LED lights on the top of the vehicle and ‘State Motor Department, Government of Rajasthan’ was written on it. The police interrogated the person sitting in the car.

After this, the fake RAS officer introduced himself as Harjeet Singh (32), son of Kartar Singh and claimed to be an RAS officer in the Secretariat. He also showed an identity card, but when the police interrogated him strictly, he got nervous and the truth came out. Accused Harjeet Singh confessed that he is a resident of Boraj Road, Faysagar Police Station Ganj, Ajmer.
Fake RAS created to save VIP treatment and toll tax
He told that he installed red-blue lights on his car so that he could avoid toll tax and get VIP facilities at tourist places and hotels. The police arrested the accused and confiscated his car and fake ID card.
SP said this in the matter
SP Sudhir Chaudhary said that the accused has been produced in the court and taken on remand. The police are now investigating who else might be involved in this fraud and how many times the accused has taken advantage of this method so far. SP said that the police has increased vigilance to prevent unwanted activities in the district. Officials have been instructed to thoroughly check VIP vehicles so that such fake people can be caught immediately.
