On Sunday (June 29, 2025), Union Home Minister Amit Shah refused any kind of talks with the Maoists. He said that the workers of banned Maoist organizations should leave weapons and surrender to the police and join the mainstream of the society. Shah said this while addressing a rally after the inauguration of the National Headquarters of Turmeric Board in Nizamabad, Telangana.

Shah targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that he is questioning ‘Operation Sindoor’. He advised Rahul Gandhi to look at the weak position of Pakistan to understand the effect of this operation. Shah said, ‘Our government’s policy is clear. There will be no conversation with the weapons. Maoists will have to surrender and surrender and join the mainstream.

So many Maoists surrendered in the last year and a half

The Home Minister said that in the recent few times in the Northeast India, about 10,000 people have abandoned weapons and adopted the mainstream of the society. Many of these people have participated in elections from taluk level to state assemblies. In the last one and a half years, more than 2,000 Maoists have surrendered by giving up arms. This is the proof of the policies and success of the operation.

Shah gave a strong message to the Maoists and said, ‘Leave the weapons and surrender. If you do not do this, then we have decided that Naxalism from the country will be completely abolished by 31 March 2026.

Problems like Naxalism and extremism have to end

Home Minister Amit Shah said that the government is committed to uprooting Naxalism. This statement is part of the strategy of the central government, under which strict steps are being taken to eliminate problems like Naxalism and extremism.

Shah said that the government’s goal is not only to ensure security, but also bring back those who have gone on the wrong path. Those who surrender are being given a chance to start a new life. It is clear from the government’s strict policy and surrender appeal that concrete steps are being taken to end Naxalism.
