Police arrested three accused after the encounter on Friday in Greater Noida, UP adjacent to Delhi. These accused were wanted in many incidents of theft and robbery. Two accused have been shot in retaliation by the police, while the third accused was caught in an attempt to escape from the spot.
According to the report of the news agency, DCP Zone-2 Shaktimohan Awasthi, while giving information about the incident, said that on Friday, the police of Surajpur police station was checking near Moser Beer intersection. Meanwhile, it was reported that some suspects are hiding in the forest near the railway line. The police immediately raided the siege. Seeing themselves surrounded, the accused started firing on the police.
In the retaliation of the police, two accused Bittu alias Pravesh (24) and Golu Jatav (24) were shot in the feet, while the third accused Naveen escaped from the spot, which was arrested by the police a while later. The injured accused have been admitted to the hospital.
The police have recovered two pistols, a native pistol, magazine, cartridge, a Thar Jeep, Scorpio and Baleno cars from the possession of the accused. Initial investigation has revealed that there are already several cases of theft and robbery against the three accused arrested. There are 10 criminal cases registered on Bittu, 7 on Golu and 3 on Naveen. Police said that these accused were constantly carrying out the theft and robbery incidents in the area and they were being searched for a long time.
