Andhra pradesh politics: A prominent person in Andhra Pradesh politics and former Chief Minister Y.S. V. Vijayasai Reddy, a close confidant of Jagan Mohan Reddy, has announced his retirement from active politics in an amazing development. He has announced that he will resign from his Rajya Sabha membership on 25 January 2025.
Chartered Accountant Reddy by profession has been a reliable colleague of the YS family for more than four decades, the late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and his son Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has served both. In his announcement, he emphasized that his decision is completely personal, taken without any external pressure or impact. He expressed his deepest gratitude to the YS family for his unwavering support and faith during his political journey.
ED investigation against Reddy
The announcement has been made after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recently been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to the Kakinada Sea Port case. The ED is investigating the allegations that Reddy, along with others, forced the promoters of the Kakinada Sea Ports Limited (KSPL) to sell their shares at a low price, causing a lot of financial loss to the original stakeholders. Reddy appeared before the ED in Hyderabad about two weeks ago to address these allegations.
Will focus on agriculture
In his statement, Reddy clarified that he was not resigning with any other position, profit or monetary profit aspirations. He also said that he has no intention of joining any other political party. Looking forward, Reddy mentioned that his future efforts would be focused on agriculture.
Given his impressive role in the YSR Congress party and his close ties with the YS family, Reddy’s departure is a sign of a significant change in the political scenario of Andhra Pradesh.
