Google, understanding the need of mobile users, has partnered with Qualcomm. With this help, Android mobile users can be given OS updates for up to 8 years. This partnership can prove to be of great use for common users.
At present, there are many companies, which give OS updates up to 3 years, then Android OS updates are closed. Once the OS update is closed, new features on mobile stop.
From the year 2023, there was a slight change in the industry, in which Samsung and Google promised to give updates up to 7 years to Android mobile users.
Qualcomm announced
Qualcomm announced a program this week, in which support for Android updates is being extended, which will be available with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
This simply means that the handsets that will come with Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will be eligible for OS updates up to 8 years, although the final decision will have to be taken by the mobile manufacturing company.

Support in mid range phone also
Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is used in flagship handsets and they are also priced. According to the information, Qualcomm will also include Snapdragon 7 series processor in this partnership in the coming days.
This work will be done with low cost
Under this partnership, Android Manufacturer or OEM will be provided with framework support from Qualcomm. Under this program, companies will be able to take advantage of the specific integrated circuit and Google’s Project Treble. For this, OEM will not need to make much changes and this will also help in reducing the cost.
These users will not benefit
Qualcomm has said that the Android device which has been launched on the old chipset from the first Snapdragon 8 Elite will not get the benefit.
