Apple may have given iPhones, Macbook Repair Contract to Tata Group

The sales of iPhones have increased rapidly in the last few years in the country. American devices maker Apple has given the contract of iPhones and MacBook’s repair to Tata Group in the country. A Tata Group company is assembling iPhones first. Apple’s plan to shift some part of its manufacturing from China involves increasing manufacturing in India.

A report by Reuters quoted the sources who have been aware of this, that the contract was earlier with Taiwan’s Wistron Wistron’s Wistron with a unit, ICT Service Management Solutions in India. Apple devices will be repaired in the Tata Group company’s company’s assembling factory in Karnataka. With the increase in sales of iPhones in the world’s second largest smartphone market in India, the market market will also increase. According to an estimate of the Counterpoint Research, around 1.1 million iPhones were sold in the country last year.

Apple and Wistron did not respond to the request sent for comments to comment on this. A Tata Group spokesperson refused to comment. Apple opened two retail stores in India about two years ago. The company plans to start new stores in the country soon. Earlier this year, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook had said that the company plans to open four new stores in the country. The company’s current stores are in Delhi and Mumbai.

Apple plans to open new stores in Sky City Mall in Borivili, Mumbai and Finix Mall of Asia in Bangalore. Earlier, a media report stated that workers are being hiring for these stores for the last few months. Apart from this, two stores of the company can be opened in Noida’s DLF Mall of India in Uttar Pradesh and Kopa Mall in Pune. Apple’s existing two stores in the first year of sales were about Rs 800 crore in the first year of sales. Saket’s store in Delhi was 60 percent.
