Employees are feeling the story of Asaram’s ‘Cult of Fear’ by discovery to Discovery. Employees of OTT Platform Discovery Plus are living in fear due to the terror of Asaram supporters. The fear is also such that more than 100 employees are not coming to office and are imprisoned in homes.
Discovery has created the documentary series ‘Cult of Fear: Asaram Bapu’. Ever since it was released, the channel employees are receiving threats.
The company complained to the police, but if action was not taken, it reached the Supreme Court. Documents show that Asaram supporters are adopting many tactics to stop the film on the OTT platform.
Discovery Communications India told the Supreme Court that the living of employees has become difficult. The channel said it created a documentary on the basis of public records and court testimony.
In the hearing, the bench of CJI Sanjeev Khanna has ordered the police of Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Telangana and Tamil Nadu to provide interim security.

- Discovery India has asked its employees not to hang the company’s ID card outside the office.
- Remove the company’s name for some time from bio on social media account. Do not travel alone.

Cult of Fear: Pressure to remove documentary
- Office siege: A day after the release of the documentary, on January 30, Asaram pro-Asaram started entering the office in Mumbai-Pune and sabotaged and asked to remove the documentary. On the same day, the offices of Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata were also threatened through letters and e-mails. On 1 February, the employees of Delhi and Gurugram threatened. Also performed.
- Women employees threatened to rape: Women employees were abused by women supporters on the way. Said, ‘You have accused Baba of rape. You also know how rape happens. ‘ Fearful women locked themselves in homes.
- Follow home, threatened: The supporters chased the employees of Mumbai reached his house. Threatened to remove the documentary by putting pressure. Many Mumbai-Pune employees stopped leaving the house.
- Stocking on social media: When all the tactics started failing, the supporters started stocking employees on social media. Target every employee who wrote the name of the company in bio.
- Threat to run on the road: In Bengaluru, the employees were threatened to beat and beat them on the road. He asked them to remove the documentary in 48 hours.
