Asia Cup 2025 Highlights: The Indian team dominated the Asia Cup. When the most run -scorer in the tournament, Abhishek Sharma was the highest wicket bowler Kuldeep Yadav. Due to strong relations between India and Pakistan, things outside the field dominated the Asia Cup. But amidst this uproar, the brightness of talent, the rise of new stars and tears of failure were seen.
India was invincible by winning its seven matches in the Asia Cup. However, Sri Lanka gave a tough fight to the team in the insignificant match of Super four and the final match against Pakistan was also decided in the last over of the tournament. Pakistan won all the rest of its matches except the three matches played against India. The defending champion Sri Lanka lost to Pakistan and Bangladesh in the super four phases.
Prior to the tournament, there were high expectations from Afghanistan but the team failed to reach the Super four phase. This ninth Asia Cup title of India is (including ODI and T20 formats). This is also India’s ninth consecutive win against Pakistan chasing the target in T20 International.
Abhishek Sharma (Abhishek Sharma) scored 314 runs in seven matches, proving the top position in the rankings of T20 format. During this, he scored three half -centuries and his highest score was 75. Even for all -rounder Hardik Pandya, this tournament could not play the finals due to an injury. He scored 48 runs in six matches and took four wickets (for 120 runs), his economy rate was 8.57.
Opener Sahibzada Farhan, who faced criticism for his ‘gun -like celebration’ against India in the super four matches, scored 217 runs in seven matches with a highest score of 58. He was the highest run -scorer for Pakistan. Fakhar Zaman also performed well for Pakistan. He scored 181 runs in seven matches, with the highest score of 50.
The only century of the tournament came from Nisanka’s bat. He scored 107 runs in a super four matches against India but it was not enough to win the team. India won in the super over. Most of Sri Lanka batsmen struggled in this tournament. Kusal Perera was the highest scorer for the team with 146 runs in six matches.
The total run in the tournament of Pakistan captain Salman Aga was 72 runs equal to his Indian counterpart Suryakumar. Despite being a good off -spinner in the helpful conditions of the spinners, he bowled only two overs in this tournament and took a wicket.
Kuldeep Yadav of India was miles ahead of other bowlers with 17 wickets in 7 matches. This figure is seven wickets more than the tournament’s second most successful bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi (10 wickets in seven matches). His best bowling performance was four wickets for seven runs and during this time he gave runs at an economy rate of just 6.27.
The total number of wickets in Kuldeep’s Asia Cup (including ODI and T20 formats) reached 36, leaving behind the previous record (33 wickets) of former Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took seven wickets for 135 runs in five matches and did a good job with an economy of 7.43.
