CM sarma on gaurav gogoi wife: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the controversy over alleged relations with the ISI of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, Elizabeth Kalbourne, is not a spy, but it is a case related to the interests of national security. Reacting to a post made by another Congress MP Pradyot Bordoloi on ‘X’, CM Sarma said that he is concerned about national security, which cannot be compromised.
The Chief Minister said, “You will be shocked in the coming months. I want to assure you that despite the responsibility on me, it is not a spy. I have also worked under Shri Tarun Gogoi and I fully understand the seriousness of such actions. Gaurav Gaurav is constantly targeting Gogoi.
‘No compromise can be made on the security of the country’
Sharma said, “Everything I am doing is completely inspired by the interests of national security – an area where no compromise can be made. I have taken an oath to protect the security and sovereignty of my country and I will maintain it, whatever happens.

What did the Congress MP say?
Bordoloi said in a post on Sunday, “The people of Assam will never accept such a hypothesis of his government and as soon as he will get a chance in the near future, he will give a befitting reply to Himant Biswa Sarma’s politics of such deception.” Earlier on Tuesday, Gogoi criticized Sarma and said that the BJP leader’s fear of losing 2026 assembly elections is the main reason behind the recent development.
